Song and Book: The Wheels on the Bus by Maryann Kovalski

Activity: "I'm going on a trip to..." The kids all got to decorate their own car and put their picture in it. Then they decorated a piece of paper by dipping toy trucks in paint and rolling them across the paper to look like a road. They glued their car on the paper with a caption about where they were going. Here's where our friends are headed these days: The beach, a hotel, Legoland, Grandma's, Texas, San Diego, Sea World, the mall, Florence, swimming, Denver, the pizza place, and Peter Piper Pizza.

Snack!

Graph: What's your favorite way to go?  The children each chose their favorite mode of transportation. We graphed the information on the board, then asked questions such as: "How many people chose riding a bike as their favorite?" or "Did more people chose flying in an airplane or riding in a car?"

Color Review: The kids finished a red and white book.  I hope they all came home and read it to you!
