Pledge/ Weather/ Calendar
Song- Leaves on the Tree(tune of "Wheels on the Bus")
The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown,
orange and brown, orange and brown.
The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown,
All over town.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish;
swish, swish, swish; swish, swish, swish.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish,
Down to the ground.
The leaves on the trees come tumbling down,
tumbling down, tumbling down.
The leaves on the trees coming tumbling down,
Down to the ground!
Book- Fall Leaves by Rita Walsh. This fun book describes Fall and all its amazing colors associated with it. The kids in the story are playing in the cool weather and jumping in piles of leaves. We talked about how fun that might be and some kids said they had done that before! I love Autumn and this book is a fun way to start our new season!! Happy Fall!!
Activity- We glued brown, red, orange, or yellow tissue paper to our fall leaf stencil. This was messy but fun and always interesting to see what colors the kids like best. Some used all the colors, while some liked their leaf to have just one color on it.

Fundamentals-
Today we started our new month and introduced new "fundamentals" to learn.
Shape: " A Triangle "(sung to the tune, "Pop Goes the Weasel")
I am a small triangle,
I have three sides you see.
I also have three corners,
They're just right for me!
#4 Action Game:
Each child gets a turn to wear #4 and pick an action to do 4x's. This is something the kids always love and as we count a bigger number, they get more creative with their action!
ABB Pattern: We first talked about what a pattern is and how it could look. Next we took turns making an ABB pattern using marbles. Right now at the beginning of the year some children may have not know what a pattern is, but as we continue practice they will understand. It is really fun for them to have objects to use in making a pattern. Practice these patterns at home with objects you may already have!
Colors: Orange and Brown
Can you find something orange/brown in the room? Different children will get an opportunity to identify the color card and then find something in the room that is the same color.
Sing/Sign Letter Ff-
We learned about the letter Ff today. The letter Ff to the turn of Frere Jacques.
The letter F. The letter F.(make ASL sign for letter, showing one hand then the other) Has a sound. Has a sound.(bring 1 hand to ear and then the other to the other ear) What sound do you make? What sound do you make?(palms facing up, shrug shoulders) /f/ /f/ /f/! /f/ /f/ /f/! (make ASL sign for letter, move hand forward and backward for each sound)
Ff- Color Ff, fish paper.
Playtime! Today was the first time we got to go outside and you can imagine how excited they were. We went over rules and they did really well and had a blast! I am so glad the weather is changing and it gives them a chance to be outside!
