Hello! It was great to be back today and see all of your sweet children again. I've missed their smiles and the fun things they say.
Welcome: File Folders

Song
Mr. Turkey
Mr. Turkey's tail is big and wide (spread fingers wide)
He swings it when he walks (move fingers around)
His neck is long (stand on tip toes and stretch neck and head up)
His chin is red (stroke chin)
And he gobbles when he talks (open and close hands while gobbling)
.
Book: The Little Scarecrow Boy by Margaret Wise Brown. This story is about a little scarecrow who wants to make all the scary faces his father makes to scare all of the crows away. The kids made some pretty good scary faces themselves!
.

.

.
Introduce Ll: We learned the ASL sign for Ll, sang our song, and did our coloring page.
The Letter L
(tune of Frere Jacques)
The letter L. The letter L. (make ASL sign for letter, showing one hand then the other)
Has a sound. Has a sound. (bring 1 hand to ear and then the other to the other ear)
What sound do you make? What sound do you make? (palms facing up, shrug shoulders)
/l/ /l/ /l/! /l/ /l/ /l/! (make ASL sign for letter, move hand forward and backward for each sound)
Review colors: We played "I spy", then made our Orange and Brown Book. (Our morning class didn't get a change to color it yet.)
Playtime!
