Welcome: Igloo guessing game. The children had to guess how many ice cubes their picture of an igloo had, then they counted them to see how close they were.
LBQ: When it's cold outside, what do you do to keep warm? Put on a coat, mittens, hat, scarf.... Drink hot chocolate.

Book - The Very Bouncy Bear by Jack Tickle. We talked about real stories and make believe. This is a fun pretend story about Arctic animals.
Experiment - How do penguins keep warm? We discussed the different ways animals would keep warm compared to us. Then we conducted an experiment. The children dunked their hands in icy cold water. It was so cold they couldn't keep it in very long. Then they put their hands in a bag that was insulated with shortening (blubber) and put them back in the icy water. They found that their hands were still warm!
Craft Activity - We used marbles and paint to decorate mittens.
Snack
Review Rectangle - we recited our rectangle poem and play rectangle freeze dance. The kids danced, jumped, tip toed and walked backwards around the shape. Each time the music stopped the children had to FREEZE!
Introduce Pp: We introduced the letter Pp. We learned the sign and also the song.
