Welcome: Paint the letter P. We used water colors to paint with, which of course are always a lot of fun!
LBQ: Can you count to 10? Can you count backwards from 10? The kids had fun showing off what they could do. We offered help when it was needed.
Pledge/Weather/Calendar
Review ABC's. We sang our ABC's baby style, dinosaur style, whisper style, and our favorite-Opera style.
Introduce Ss. We learned the ASL for Ss, sang our Ss song, colored our Ss coloring page.
The Letter Ss
(to the tune of Are You Sleeping?)
The letter Ss. The letter Ss. (Make ASL sign for letter, showing one hand, then the other.)
Has a sound. Has a sound. (Bring one hand to ear, then the other hand to the other ear.)
What sound do you make? What sound do you make? (Palms facing up, shrugging shoulders.)
/s/ /s/ /s/! /s/ /s/ /s/! (Make ASL sign for letter, moving hand forward and backward for each sound.)
Review Rectangle. We reviewed our rectangle song, then we put together a shape book about rectangles. We cut the pages apart, put them in order, colored the pages, then read the book together.

Snack
Book: Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! I'm off to the moon! by Dan Yaccarino. This is a fun book about a child who pretends he travels to the moon.
Last-Our trip to SPACE! We had fun making our astronaut helmets and jetpacks. After we finished getting ready, we counted back from 10 and blasted off! We moved around the room until we found a planet, then we gathered together and I explained that it was a jumping only planet, then we jumped around until it was time to gather back to the space shuttle and take off again. We also visited a tip toeing only planet, a galloping only planet, and a crawling only planet.
Playtime!
