At the Farm!

Welcome: Tracing Pages. We had the kids practice the tracing pages from their daily folders.

LBQ: What kind of animals live on a farm? They named a lot of them: cow, pig, horse, etc. A whale and a rhino were named too, but we talked about their homes and why they're not on a farm.

Pledge/Weather/Calendar

Book: At the Farm by David Schwartz. In this story, the kids see a page that shows a small part of an animal and they have to guess which one it is. The next page shows them what it is and talks a little about the animal.

Introduce Fundamentals
Brown/Yellow: We found the two colors around the room. Brown can be tricky. A few of the children still get it confused with Black.
Diamond: Poem
I diamond is a pretty sight (look through fingers like they're glasses).
It can sparkle and be very bright (open and shut fingers).
With a point on the bottom (put hands down to make a v).
And a point at the top (put hands up).
A point on each side (touch each elbow).
And that's where we stop (put hands out to stop)!
AB Pattern: We practiced with our color rocks.
Eight 8: We played our follow the leader game. Each child had a turn to choose an action that everyone did eight times.

Yearbook Activity: We completed our writing page for February. (We didn't quite get to it last month!) I love _________________.

Snack

Review Letters: We sang our ABC song and looked at different letters and made their sound.
