Be My Valentine!

Tuesday, February 8th

Welcome: Coloring Page - Concentration Game

LBQ: Name people that you love. How do you show them you love them? The kids all named their family and they show them love with hugs and kisses and by helping with brother and sister and saying 'I love you!'

Pledge/Weather/Calendar

Activity: We talked about our hearts and how important they are in our body. We talked about how we keep them healthy. Then the children took turns choosing a heart card that had an activity for everyone to do to get a little exercise.

Book: Be My Valentine by M. J. Carr. This is a story about two mice, one of which wants the other to be his valentine. He tries to make her a poem to let her know he wants her for a friend. In the end, all he needs to do is ask.

Activity: Valentines! The kids were able to make a fun "spin wheel" valentine for a friend.

Snack

Heart Freeze Dance: I put a heart shape made out of tape on the floor. The children identified it and we said our heart poems. Then we danced, walked, tip toed, jumped and ran around the heart, freezing whenever the music would stop. Then we jumped in, on, outside of, beside, near, and under the heart.
